When a member purchases or renews a membership, you can offer additional options to them. In this article, we present how to make selecting one or more options mandatory.
To see how to configure the options for a specific membership type, consult this article.
When should I make selecting an option required?Normally, during the membership purchase or renewal process, the choices are optional. For example, members can subscribe to an additional service or make a donation.
In some cases, choosing one or more options among the choices available must be required. This function is useful if your members must choose between different types of insurance or coverage when purchasing a membership.
How do I make selecting one or more options mandatory? In the Members application, click on the Memberships tab in the vertical menu on the left-hand side of your screen, and then on “Membership types” in the black horizontal menu.
Then click on the type of membership whose options you would like to configure.
Once you’ve clicked on the membership type, you will be taken to the general configuration interface.
From this page, click on Options in the black horizontal menu.
This is configured in the “Selection rule” section.
- Since the function Require the selection of only one optional option is checked, the member will be required to choose between one of the two options. Members will not be able to finalize their membership unless at least one option is selected.
- Conversely, if the function Require the selection of at least one optional option is checked, the member may select as many options as possible, if at least one is selected.
